Mount Sinai’s Diversity Programs Make “Top 5” List

DiversityInc, the nation’s leading publication in advancing excellence in diversity management, has ranked the Mount Sinai Health System No. 5 on its 2015 “Top 5 Hospitals and Health Systems” list. The recognition honors the accomplishments of the Health System’s Office for Diversity and Inclusion and the Center for Multicultural and Community Affairs, the diversity center of Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Even after a 31 percent increase in competition this year and the use of more competitive methodology, the Health System was able to improve from its No. 6 ranking in 2014. “Our goal was to move up on the list, and we accomplished that this year,” says Gary Butts, MD, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Mount Sinai Health System, and Senior Associate Dean for Diversity Programs, Policy and Community Affairs, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. “This recognition acknowledges the sustained commitment of our leadership to advancing diversity and inclusion.” (more…)
