Alexis Chiang Colvin, MD, serves as the Chief Medical Officer for the US Open and is the team physician for the U.S. Fed Cup team. She has extensive experience treating collegiate, Olympic, and professional athletes. Dr. Colvin is an Associate Professor of Sports Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in the Leni and Peter W. May Department of Orthopedic Surgery. She is a specialist in the treatment of sports-related injuries of the knee, shoulder, and hip. She has served as a physician at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Melissa D. Leber, MD

Melissa Leber, MD, serves as the Director of Player Medical Services for the US Open. Dr. Leber is an Associate Professor of Orthopedics and Emergency Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She is also the Director of Emergency Department Sports Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Leber has worked with the Pittsburgh Pirates and USA Rugby and is now a tournament physician for World Rugby. Dr. Leber serves as a player-physician for the US Open, and Chief Medical Officer for the Women’s Tennis Association NYJTL Tennis Tournament at the Cary Leeds Center. She is also an airway management physician and visiting team physician for the New York Jets, team physician for the Horace Mann School, and a finish-line physician for the TCS New York City Marathon and Half Marathon.

Shawn G. Anthony, MD, MBA

Shawn Anthony, MD, MBA, is an Assistant Professor of Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery specializing in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery and regenerative medicine procedures for injuries of the shoulder, hip, and knee. Dr. Anthony completed his MD at Harvard Medical School, orthopedic surgery residency at the Harvard Orthopedic Program, and fellowship training in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery. He has provided medical coverage for the New York Knicks and the New York Red Bulls, and currently serves as medical director for Broadway shows. An orthopedic consultant to the United States Tennis Association, Dr. Anthony provides courtside coverage for players at the US Open Tennis Championships.

Carlos L. Benitez, MD

Carlos L. Benitez, MD, is a radiologist at the Mount Sinai Health System specializing in musculoskeletal imaging. He more than 16 years of clinical experience and is currently an attending radiologist at Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai Morningside Hospitals. He is an Associate Professor of Radiology at the Icahn School of Medicine.

Jillian L. Capodice, MS, LAC

Jillian L. Capodice, MS, LACis an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology and directs Integrative Urology and Wellness for the Department of Urology, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.  She is a leader in the field of complementary and integrative medicine and is one of a few specialists in integrative and holistic urology.  She was previously the Director of Holistic Urology in the Department of Urology at Columbia University Medical Center, New York, where she served in that position for eight years.  Her clinical specialties include complementary medicine practices including acupuncture, dietary supplements and traditional herbal medicine, diet and nutrition, lifestyle medicine and coaching, exercise and physical activity consulting and coaching, and mind-body medicine such as meditation and qi gong.

She has successfully treated hundreds of patients with chronic prostatitis and chronic pelvic pain and a large number of prostate cancer patients with whom she works with in a holistic and multidisciplinary fashion to improve their health outcomes.  She has also treated hundreds of breast cancer patients for a variety of symptoms including hot flashes, fatigue, and neruopathic pain. She has great success treating a variety of complex chronic musculoskeletal and other pain conditions, fertility, irritable bowel symptoms, and headaches.  She is devoted to patient-centered care and values patients’ time and concerns.

Houman Danesh, MD

Houman Danesh, MD, is the Director of Integrative Pain Management at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Danesh’s background as a physiatrist and his approach to pain management provides an individualized integrative approach to helping patients in pain. He evaluates muscular imbalances which may be the underlying issue leading to herniated disc, headaches, neck pain and back pain.

Elizabeth Dennis, MDis an orthopedic surgeon, fellowship-trained in sports medicine surgery specializing in the management and surgical treatment of knee, shoulder, and elbow problems. Dr. Dennis uses minimally invasive arthroscopy and other advanced surgical techniques to address musculoskeletal ailments such as ligamentous knee injuries, meniscal tears, patellar instability, cartilage disorders, shoulder instability, rotator cuff tears, and shoulder arthritis.

James Gladstone, MD, is Chief of the Division of Sports Medicine Service and Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is a leading expert in the treatment of sports injuries, in particular those of the knee and shoulder. Dr. Gladstone currently serves as the Medical Advisor to the U.S. Davis Cup tennis team, an orthopedic consultant to the US Open Tennis Championships, and a physician for the U.S. Ski Team. He is also the team physician for ASA College and several public high school football teams in the New York City area.

Chen He, MD

Chen He, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine.  Dr. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in psychology and biological sciences and obtained her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed her residency in emergency medicine at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, where she was selected as a Chief Resident in her final year.

Thomas B. Hildebrandt, PsyD

Thomas B. Hildebrandt, PsyD, is a Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. His research interests span three major areas: (1) development and evaluation of clinical interventions for adolescents and adults with eating and weight disorders or adults with alcohol use disorders; (2) psychiatric and physical consequences of appearance and performance enhancing drug (APED) use or anabolic androgenic steroid (AAS)use; (3) the biological basis, especially the neuroendocrine and hormonal contributions to eating and substance use disorders. 

Robert Lee Hoke, MD

Robert Lee Hoke, MD, attended Rutgers New Jersey Medical School graduating in 2017.  Following that, he completed an Emergency Medicine residency at Maimondies Medical Center where he served as a chief resident from 2019-2020.   After his residency he completed an EMS/Disaster Fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta.  Currently he is an Instructor in Emergency Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine and part of the Emergency Medicine attending staff at Sinai West, Morningside and Brooklyn. Additionally, Dr. Hoke works with the Mount Sinai EMS teams and preparedness teams. 

Amie M. Kim, MD

Amie M. Kim, MD, is dual board certified in Sports Medicine and Emergency Medicine. She is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and a co-director of the  Department of Rehabilitation Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Kim currently works as a player’s physician for the NFL Jets in concussion and trauma evaluations. She travels year-round with the NBA covering events domestic and international including NBA Finals, All-Stars week, Tokyo global games, and FIBA Intercontinental Cup. She performs as a player’s physician for the annual US Open Tennis Tournament.She has worked in operational planning for the TCS New York City Marathon. Dr. Kim’s primary interest is a collaborative patient care experience from the Emergency Department into the post-ED sports medicine office. She believes interdisciplinary medicine transforms patient experiences and creates new solutions in musculoskeletal medicine and services. Integrating the excellence of both departments provides immediate care from day of injury.

Charles Litchfield, MD

Charles Litchfield, MD, prioritizes each patient’s individual health and wellbeing in his sports medicine practice. Through careful diagnosis and a personalized approach, he partners with each patient to achieve their optimal return to activity whether its competing at an elite level of sport or managing a daily walk. Dr. Litchfield works closely with his orthopedic surgery colleagues to provide the optimal care for every patient with the fastest, yet safest, return to activity after an injury.

Trevor R. Pour, MD

Trevor Pour, MD, serves as Associate Program Director and Site Director for the Emergency Medicine Residency program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He also serves as the Director for Undergraduate Medical Education for the Department of Emergency Medicine. He is the recipient of numerous faculty teaching awards at both the graduate and undergraduate level and is academically active and published in the fields of palliative care, pediatrics, emergency gynecology, health policy, and medical education.

Ryan Michael Renacci, MD

Ryan Michael Renacci, MD, attended Georgetown University School of Medicine graduating in 2018. Dr. Renacci completed an Emergency Medicine residency at Mount Sinai Morningside-West in 2021 where he was elected as chief resident. Prior to medical school, Dr. Renacci obtained a master’s degree in Medical Law and Ethics at King’s College London and the London School of Economics and graduated with honors in 2013. His area of interest and dissertation focused on a comparison of the emergency healthcare systems of the United States and the United Kingdom from both a legal and ethical standpoint. 

Christopher Reverte, MD

Christopher Reverte, MD, completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida, then obtained his medical degree at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons; he then completed an Emergency Medicine Residency at Los Angeles County + University of Southern California.

Aruna M. Seneviratne, MD

Aruna Seneviratne, MD, is an Associate Professor of Orthopedics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and a consultant and player physician for the US Open. He is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in disorders of the shoulder, knee, and all sports-related injuries. He investigates and uses cell-based therapies/biologics in carefully selected patients during rotator cuff surgery to promote the possibility of a quicker and more durable healing and recovery. He also specializes in robotic partial and total knee replacements. During his fellowship, Dr. Seneviratne participated in the care of athletes from the New York Jets, New York Islanders, and Hofstra University athletic teams.

Eric Small, MD

Eric Small, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Orthopedics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a consultant and player physician for the US Open. As team physician for local high schools and colleges, he sets policy regarding sports injury management and return-to-play protocols. He is often on the sidelines at local Westchester County football games. Dr. Small is the former chairman of the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Sports Medicine. He has been named Best Sports Medicine Physician multiple times by New York Magazine, Westchester Magazine, and Hudson Valley Parent, and in 2016 by Castle Connolly.
