First Celebration of STAR Honorees
The STAR (Strive to Achieve Relationships) Recognition program leadership team and David L. Reich, MD, President and Chief Operating Officer of The Mount Sinai Hospital, on Monday, January 28, hosted the first quarterly celebration to honor employees who have exemplified Mount Sinai’s health system values and service behaviors. Eight individuals were honored with certificates for receiving the most STAR recognitions from their peers since the program’s inception in November. Cora Marie Taningco, a case manager on 6 West, received the STAR Champion award for encompassing the Better Together principle. Cora recognized the most MSH employees, many outside of her own department. Patient Transport won the STAR Champion Department award for its understanding that working with all disciplines is imperative in providing seamless, coordinated care. Dr. Reich announced that the STAR program is being expanded to Mount Sinai Queens.
