We’ve made a lot of progress since we became a system in 2013. One of the areas we are focusing on is creating a seamless experience for all of our patients across the entire Mount Sinai Health System. As a part of that goal, we are finally implementing Epic Inpatient at Petrie next year. Using Epic as our common EHR, we will have the tools and information we need to make more informed decisions, leading to better patient care outcomes and contributing to an improved experience for our patients across our entire network.
We are making excellent progress across MSBI as we prepare ourselves for the Epic inpatient go-live on Sunday, May 17, 2020.
Meet Our MSBI Epic Inpatient Project Champions
One of the many benefits of working at our health system is that we already have the support we need as we learn how to move from our current inpatient technology to Epic. To that end, we are delighted to introduce you to our Project Champions for the Epic Inpatient Implementation at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. They have graciously offered their time, caring, and enthusiasm to help us prepare for the move to Epic. Preparations have included: providing subject matter expertise, partnering with teams that help ensure that the system is responsive to the needs of the end-users (all of us), and representing us when key decisions needed to be made. You can ask them questions about this implementation or make suggestions so we can better understand your needs as they relate to training and learning the new software and understanding your workflows. Our Project Champions for the Epic Inpatient Implementation at MSBI are:
- Diana Raymond, MSN, RN, our MSBI Nursing Champion
- Andrew Yu, MD, our MSBI Physician Champion

I hope you’ll seek these champions out for the opportunity to collaborate as we all learn how to maximize Epic in an effort to provide seamless, compassionate care.
MSBI Epic Inpatient Intranet Site
To provide a central source of information about our Epic Inpatient project, we also have launched the MSBI Epic Inpatient intranet site (http://mshsintranet.mountsinai.org/EpicInpatientMSBI/), where employees can find great resources to learn about our transformative journey. We will be updating this site with information about training and helpful tips (NOTE: use Chrome for better browsing experience and site will only work when connected to the MSHS network).
Thank you all for being a part of this journey to create a seamless experience for our patients.
