We are excited to announce the launch of a new initiative to support the development and dissemination of Mount Sinai digital mobile applications. The newly formed Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai App Studio will be a catalyst and creative hub for mobile app development across Mount Sinai Health System by working closely with both internal and external developers and providing support for future digital strategies. Mount Sinai mobile apps are being downloaded both locally and globally, becoming essential digital tools in support of health, wellness, research, and education.

The Icahn Mount Sinai App Studio will continue to support existing grant-funded “Sinai AppLab” projects as well as new strategic mobile app initiatives, while providing existing Mount Sinai development teams best practices in usability, branding, cyber security, and mobile app vendor review and management. Working closely with the Mobile App Dissemination committee, the Icahn Mount Sinai App Studio will represent Mount Sinai with our external mobile app partners such as Apple and Google, and support our existing iOS and Google Play stores.

The development of the Icahn Mount Sinai App Studio will support the School’s mission of exemplary excellence in education, research, and patient care and be part of the School and Health System Information Technology team led by Kristin Myers, Chief Information Officer and Dean of Information Technology, and Paul Lawrence, Deputy Chief Information Officer and Senior Associate Dean of Information Academic and Research Informatics. Over the next several months, the Icahn Mount Sinai App Studio will be launching a new website and announcing a variety of community outreach events and workshops.

For further information and inquiries, please reach out to Ricardo Somarriba, Associate Director of Academic Information Technology.
