This week, I’d like to highlight some of the growth and great care being provided to patients in our ambulatory practices.  There is so much going on!   Be sure to scroll all the way down to see the pictures of your co-workers.

Downtown Chelsea is offering expanded ultrasound services. I’m really excited to announce that this week Mount Sinai Downtown Chelsea Center expanded its ultrasonography service.  The staff now performs abdominal, gynecological, first trimester OB, and vascular ultrasound.  Pictured below (from left to right) are members of the ultrasound team: Jodi Russo, Mary Ibrahim, Patrique Larco-Russo, and Julissa Gomez. Chelsea is also building eight new exam rooms, which should be ready in September.

Greenwich Street opens for business. I’m also pleased to report that the Medical Group’s Greenwich Street practice opened its doors in early March. It’s located near Battery Park and City Hall, one of the fastest growing residential neighborhoods in Manhattan.  The practice currently offers primary care, dermatology and cardiology services, and will be recruiting specialty care physicians in orthopedics and gynecology.   Pictured below (from left to right) are three members of the new practice: Medical Assisant Clara Apastolopoulos, Dr. Maria Sequeira, and Medical Assistant Angela Grissett.  We are so excited to open this practice and expand into this growing neighborhood!

14th Street Practice offers allergy care.  The Medical Group’s practice at 14th Street is now offering allergy care. Allergist Dr. Sarah Silverman started treating patients at the practice in March, and her practice is taking off! LPN Janice Amador (center) and Dr. Silverman (right) are pictured below, caring for one of their patients.

MSDUS practices get recognized. Each year the Mount Sinai Health System participates in HealthFirst’s Quality Incentive Program.  It rewards practices financially that deliver excellent clinical care, provide preventive cancer screenings, and effectively manage chronic illnesses. MSBI was – once again — a top performer in the program, and had the best overall clinical scores in the Mount Sinai Health System. These results are largely due to the hard work of our colleagues at Union Square – the Care Managers, and the staff working in GMA, Pediatrics, Gastroenterology, Radiology, and Ob/Gyn. What an amazing job by an amazing team! Pictured below are some of the people who helped: (back row left to right) Nurse Care Manager Charmaine Alexis; Patient Navigators Yuyuhita Guzman, Danielle Arroyo, and Xiomara Reyes; Billing Coordinator Merlyn Nesbitt; and Care Coordinators Michael Ortiz and Tyler McGuire; (front row, from left to right) Senior Data Analyst Christine Einloth and PSR Kathryn Gariba Benjamin.

Thank you and have a great weekend!

– Jeremy
