Earlier this month, we welcomed members of our behavioral health team to the newly-refreshed unit on 8 Bernstein. Based on extensive staff feedback and brainstorming, we had the opportunity to redesign the work areas and to cosmetically improve the entire unit. I want to thank our exceptional engineering department for the high standard of professionalism and expertise that they brought to this effort.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 8 included music by music therapy research fellow Gabrielle Bouissou, MS, MT-BC, and a blessing by Rabbi Gabriel Kretzmer-Seed, Chaplain Resident. Psychiatry Chair Grant Mitchell, MD, and Nurse Manager Liz Metz, RN, also spoke. The ceremony concluded with the cutting of the ribbon by Sara Lopez-Rivera, RN, BC, Senior Nurse for inpatient behavioral health and MSBI employee for over 20 years.
