On Tuesday, November 22nd, MSBI staff gathered for our hospital’s annual Day of Thanks. This longstanding tradition brings together staff from across the hospital to take a moment to stop and be grateful. The Louis Armstrong Music Therapy Department serenaded us, Chaplain Michael Horton offered words of gratitude and Macarthur Caesar, a carpenter with the Engineering Department, sang “Amazing Grace” with his beautiful voice.

Thank you to Rabbi Jo Hirschmann, Director of Spiritual Care, for hosting the event and inviting all to share stories of gratitude and caring. Thank you to Food Services for the contribution of pies, raffled off to those who joined in the special day, and for their efforts in preparing a holiday meal on Thanksgiving Day.

While it is difficult to be away from family and friends on holidays, I appreciate everyone who dedicated their time to be at MSBI on Thanksgiving Day, both those who were here for a work shift and those who volunteered to help with the Thanksgiving meal that was served in the 2 Dazian Rotunda. Over 850 employees were thanked and served.
